Brandon: So I needed to both; Design Pucks Clothing and what his colour scheme would be, so I experimented with the idea that Puck was in on the joke that this is a play, so he'd dress like Shakespeare and wave around a skull. In an ideal world we'd like to have Puck change costume depending on the area just to emphasise the theme of each area and Act of the play. At the time of writing this we still havent settled on a colour scheme, we want it to pop against the environment but we also dont want it to be garish. Desiging his clothes is what I'm doing at hte time of writing, so I threw out some really loose and quick sketches of what Puck's clothing could look like.

Like I mentioned we're toying with the idea of dressing Puck up like Shakespeare, as if he's in on the joke, the play is after all a comedy so if we dont get at least a chuckle I dont think we're capturing the emphasis and feeling of the play.

I went for a more traditional look here, playing off Brian Frouds designs, I really like that hat, I'm just put off by how much of a pain its going to be to rig (Rigging isnt my forte)

Looking at various pieces of art from Shakespeares era, Fairies werent really depicted like they are today, they we're evil and often the blame of pretty much every little bit of misfortune that plagued 16th century Europe. They were often depicted as ery animalistic creatures, often adorning themselves with fruits and flowers.

As mentioned, the play alludes to Titiana and Oberon's homeland as India, so we thought we'd do a throwback to that by dressing the fairies in Indian traditional garb.

Since the play was based in Athens I thought I'd throw some Greek dress in the mix, it wasnt much of a consideration from the team, but we did play with the idea of applying indian patterns to the toga/sash.
So from these the team really likes the idea of mixing the Shakespeare outfit with the Indian inspired one, I fear it might clash but I'll experiment with it regardless.
